
About our leader
Debra Amerson, MA Business, the leader of deeper greeN is an award-winning interior plantscape and Permaculture Designer, visual artist, photographer, writer and jewelry designer.
At 21, Debra founded, grew and managed Progressive Plantscapes, Inc. in Washington DC managing a staff of nine which serviced 70 corporate and residential maintenance accounts per week. In 1990, she sold the business to a competitor and relocated to the San Francisco Bay area.
In 1991, Amerson founded Plantris Productions, now known as deeper greeN and has been in business ever since...

In the late 1980's, Debra traveled to the Hawaiian islands on several occasions visiting Hana Maui to study with botonist Howard Cooper, the now deceased creator of Helani Gardens, a 70 acre tropical garden. Cooper was first person to introduce many species of Heliconia and Ginger to Hawaii. Cooper shared his vast knowlege of plants and shared his unusual propagation techniques, seed collecting methods, composting and koi pond management.
During subsequent visits, Debra and her nature photographer friend Gail Ellingson were were invited stay in Howard's (furnished) giant Banyan treehouse... a plant lover's dream come true.
Green Business for a Sustainable Future
In 1996, Amerson received an MA Business from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), participating in one one the USA's first graduate level academic programs in social entrepreneurship and green, environmentally responsible business with an emphasis on new paradigm management practices.

After graduation, Amerson collaborated on building first web site for Presideo World College, now known as Presideo School of Management and later participated in program development focus groups for the graduate program.
The CIIS MA Business program later moved to New College of California and was recently aquired by Dominican University of California in San Rafael. The Green MBA program is an accredited, on site graduate program in the San Francisco Bay Area. Graduates receive a Masters of Business Administration in Sustainable Enterprise.
