deeper greeN is an award-winning interior landscape, decorative arts & Pro Plant Care™ service firm. We transform commercial and residential sites into beautiful, breatheable and artistic gardens--indoors and out.
Custom Planters deeper greeN creates handmade forest certified wood planter boxes and reclaimed wooden planters that we call "Drifters," sturdy, stylish and one of a kind wood planter boxes for interior spaces.
"Drifters" come in square and rectangular shapes and are constructed in the San Francisco Bay area by a talented craftsman who builds our reclaimed wood fountains, furniture and just about any design we present him.
After the Drifters boxes are constructed, we find then finds a great excuse to go to a beach with her dogs, to gather backpacks full of driftwood, which later gets drilled onto the edges to create these truly inspired planter boxes.
Through trial and error, we've made important discoveries about using reclaimed wood for exterior planter boxes, garden furniture, recycling bins et. Reclaimed and wood holds up beautifully indoors and can last many years, however, it doesn't last as long outdoors.
Outside, old reclaimed wood swells in wet and winter weather, it dries then shrinks in hot weather causing warping, splitting and general deterioration.
Our reclaimed wood planters help to eliminate fires
We carefully deconstruct mossy, weathered, paint faded fences, pallets, barns, chicken coops, storage sheds and shacks and salvage beautiful reusable Redwood planks. We then build beautiful recycled planters and in turn, help to save our local fire department money budgeted for a structural burning of unwanted wooden structures.
A better exterior solution
Our custom exterior planter boxes shown above on this New York City balcony were constructed with Forest Certified sustainably harvested Machichi, an exotic hard wood from Mexico, Costa Rica and Guatemala.
Water Gardens, Fountains & Fish
deeper greeN creates fountains in a multitude of styles, shapes and substrates. These water gardens are with recycled materials including: salvaged fence and bridge boards, and an old ceramic pots.
An indoor water garden located close to windows with natural light can easily supports aquatic plants and goldfish. A mini eco-system forms creating ideal conditions. The photo above features air plants and green mosses living naturally on rocks or wood positioned above the water line.
