Permaculture

Permaculture is a design system for creating sustainable and regenerative human environments. It is one of the most holistic, integrated design methodologies found in the world today and linked by the ethics of: caring for the earth, caring for people and sharing resources.

Debra Amerson, is a certified Permaculture Designer and naturally incorporates Permaculture principles into her business and personal life.  Permaculture was founded in Australia in the 1970's by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren. Permaculture fosters relationships between various elements and disciplines including small scale intensive plantings and designing ecologically sound and self-maintaining landscapes.

Permaculture Ethics

1. Care of the earth means making sure we don't damage the planets natural systems.
2. Care of the people means meeting people's needs in more sustainable ways and having a good quality of life without damaging the earth.

3. Accepting limits to population and consumption means realizing that as a humans, we cannot continue to increase and sustain the planet. We must put limits on our own growth and our own consumption so that you can invest your resources in caring for the earth and caring for the people.

succulent

"A garden that symbolizes our part in this evolution is a challenge and a source of immense hope. If a family or group is able to achieve this, others will follow, and the movement will grow. In a time of famine for many and threatened famine for many others, the victory garden is an indication of a new way the earth can be made more fruitful. We must have a vision."

- Barbara L. Minton
