When our valued client's need help QUICKLY, we respond quickly.
The short stories below, illustrate two "a-typical" occurrences that really happened on otherwise "typical" days.
deeper greeN provides weekly pro plant care service for Whole Foods Market in San Rafael California. Once, we were called in for an emergency plant cleaning after a flooring contractor mishap. The flooring company was hired to sand the concrete slab floor using a combination sander / vacuum, intended to catch and bag the fine glaze dust particles for easy disposal. Somehow, instead the unaware contractor actually "blew" tiny dust particles into the air, completely blanketing the store's merchandise in a fine gray powder dust including the live plant displays, decorative pots and shelves. Yikes!
Whole Foods presents many plant maintenance challenges anyway, the early AM or after hours night time installation and maintenance times, plants elevated 6' up require constant ladder climbing, working amongst employees constantly re-stocking products, the ventilation system requires understanding of seasonal heat and air fluctuations and when moving or replacing plants, the sheer weight to lift the plants on and off the elevated sheves, freezers and endcaps on a ladder requires two strong people care and patience.
Debra responded to the client's panicked call immediatly in person. Afterward she made several calls and assembed a 5 person crew to show up at 4 am the next morning. Our team worked together using ladders to remove the plants and cart them outdoors to a makshift 4 folding table assembly line and began cleaning the plants, root pruning, refreshing the soil with organic amendmenst and feeding all the plants. The clean up took our team three concurrent 4AM-10AM shifts, to clean and return clean plants inside the store. Afterwards, the store was sparkling clean, the plants were happy and our client was delighted and we were tired from a job well done.
Stuff Happens... Cool Under Pressure
In 2004, one of our foliage suppliers sent a large cargo delivery truck to the Oakland Hills for a single plant delivery. The driver backed the truck into our client's driveway with the truck's rear doors facing the garage. Three minutes later, before the driver opened the rear truck door--the parking brake gave out, and the tlarge ruck rolled backwards. Luckily, our installer ran out of the way seconds before the truck rammed right into our clients garage and roof overhang, damaging clay terra cotta tiles, wood framing and rain gutters. The foliage supplier's insurance policy covered the property damage.
We mention these instances as a reminder that -stuff happens! And... just in case our deeper greeN staff, or our venders-- or our sub-contractors might ever cause property damage to your home or business location--we are responsive and protected. End of story.
